For Thursday and by the start of class:

• • Create a WordPress blog on your domain (or subdomain) or Sites@UMW site
    1. Post a blog post introducing yourself and explaining what interests you about the History of the Information Age (and address the items noted below).
    2. Canvas Message me the link OR submit as part of the tech comfort survey below.
  • Install Hypothes.is if you haven’t already and begin to comment on the draft syllabus on the course site. Answer the questions at the bottom of the draft syllabus page.
  • Review the assignments from 2011, 2014, 2019, 2021, and 2023 class iterations, and read over the advice given by the 2014 class.  Include in your blog post one assignment that you like and one piece of advice that you plan on using.
  • Take the tech survey for the course.

  Feeling adventurous? Try out another tool we will be using some in class. (If not, no worries.  We’ll discuss more later.)

  • Install Zotero and request admission to Info Age group
    1. Add one source (article, book, important web article, key image/meme, video) to the Info Age group
