Although not all of the characters were real people, the movie was based on a book and still did a good job of developing the characters that they used. In many movies depicting Native Americans, Native Americans end up being a trope, we don't get to see them fighting back, but we see them being docile and fine with their world collapsing around them. I think it was good to see a movie that focused on the fact that Native Americans cared about their land and fought for their interests, because so often in Hollywood they like to skip over that part of history. --Helen Dhue
