  • Mission Statement 
    • Mission: To document the history of the renaming of Trinkle Hall to James Farmer Hall, with emphasis on the perspectives and experiences of those involved in the renaming process. 
    • Target audience: UMW students, faculty, staff, alumni
    • Advertising: QR code in Farmer Hall, JFMC and around campus, word of mouth/personal sharing, UMW history home page, request other James Farmer websites to link our website on theirs
      • Ask Dr. Sanford at JFMC about Farmer-related websites
    • Project/Data sustainability models: Using up to date and popular plug-ins, ensuring embedded media will stay on the internet
  • Tools
    • Trello to organize our work and assign specific tasks to each member
    • WordPress – Domain setup 
    • Slug: jamesfarmerhall.umwhistory.org
    • Timeline tool – Use TimelineJS to layout the process of the renaming of James Farmer Hall
    • Audio equipment – Zoom field recorder/Lav mic
    • Auto-transcription tool that we can then edit: Otter.ai
  • Schedule of milestones 
    • Feb 10: Biographies of Trinkle and Farmer
    • Feb 17: brief history of building
    • Feb. 24: interview questions, informed consent document, renaming survey results, get skeleton of website up: Have a theme and layout 
    • March 10: have interviews done (email & audio), 
      • 11 interview subjects:  
        • Dr. Chichester & Dr. Devlin (audio or email), Breezy & Maya (audio & email), Dr. Sanford & Mr. Williams (audio or email)
        • Dr. Och (email), James Pape (email), Michelle Pickham (email), Michael Johnson (email), Christina Dominguez (email); 
      • create timeline of renaming process
    • March 22: have first 3 interviews’ audio editing done, uploaded, transcribed
    • March 28: have second 3 interviews’ audio editing done, uploaded, transcribed 
    • March 31: website formatting/design, write About Us & About Project page
      • Production journals for each group member kept throughout the project and posted on website to aid in longevity and hammer out what digital history projects are and give insight into them 
    • April 4: final website overview
    • PROJECT DUE APRIL 7
  • Division of labor
    • Sophia – interview, research, WordPress design, writing, transcribing audio
    • Yenevi – research, getting info, writing, WordPress design, basic editing
    • Olivia – research, writing, WordPress design
    • Jesse – graphic design, writing, research, Audio production & editing, Transcribing
    • All: review site for consistency, grammar, transcript approach, unified form etc.
