During the project, an Omeka website will be created to include 1 page for each object with a 1-2 paragraph description, Dublin Core metadata, a photograph of the object, a link to a short video of a museum expert explaining the object on YouTube, and the 3D image. The group will attempt to find a plugin to embed the 3D file in the Omeka web page. However, if there is no plugin, the page will contain a link to the 3D scan hosted on Sketchfab.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The goal of the project is to attract museum visitors and enable researchers and the public to interact with and learn about objects significant to the life of James Monroe. The website will be linked to the James Monroe Museum\u2019s website and ultimately be taken over and maintained by the museum, so it will be designed with as much simplicity and as little customization as possible. One member of the group will be responsible for uploading the laser scan, creating the Dublin Core metadata, and writing the paragraph description for each object. The other two group members will provide suggestions and edit. Mary and Lila will write up two objects and Jonathan one. Jonathan will lead in the video editing and the other group members will assist.
